I hate it when I say "I'm going to make x for dinner." and everyone continues to play console games and says "Noooo, anything but x!" for all values of x.
I'll try that! Certainly 'well then, what do you want?' doesn't work. I once fed the adult sardines and ice cream and got no complaints. Yesterday I served 1/4 heads of cabbage and crackers and got no complaints ...
At this point I'd stop saying 'I'm making x for dinner' entirely and just make what you want. Sardines and ice cream? Cabbage and crackers? *Computers* couldn't predict what that kind of palate wants to eat.
