I hate it when I say "I'm going to make x for dinner." and everyone continues to play console games and says "Noooo, anything but x!" for all values of x.

At this point I'd stop saying 'I'm making x for dinner' entirely and just make what you want. Sardines and ice cream? Cabbage and crackers? *Computers* couldn't predict what that kind of palate wants to eat.

Here here. When people don't realize that they have a choice dinners go so much more smoothly.
