Ha! Found a page of the 3000 most frequently used Chinese characters, sorted by frequency on the web. That'll do for a vocabulary list for studying. I'd rather have a list sorted by competency exam or a reading list by grade level, but this will do. I'm eager to get started.

I was going to go back to my old standby and use the SanZiJing, but it's hanging out with my 300 Tang poems, which is to say, where I can't find it.

You're welcome. I thought you would like it.

My issue is - a vocabulary isn't an education. I'm going to use my idioms dictionary to find ways to practice each word. Darn it.

You're way beyond me. I'm going to use this vocabulary to read subtitles, and pleased to know what ー定 means at last.

Yes, but you can do with English/European literature what I want to do with Chinese, which is be literate. Classically, even.
