For flemmings, check out the song "The Jury Sleeps Upright" at http://www.a-cappella.com/product/901/bar_grill_singers
They're actually quite good singers.

The Metropolitan Opera, at your local movie theater!
I had no idea! I'm going to have to check it out!
yarn, it's relevant, really!
This would be the perfect calendar for someone we know. It's hilarious, in a good way.
hydrangeas
My hydrangeas are powder blue with a purple undercast and fade to teal. They are quite lovely, especially as they fade to teal green. The neighbor has some that are pure blue and intensely colored, growing right up against our fence. I've always coveted them.
In taking down the fence today, Bob the Builder knocked a branch off her hydrangeas. I've got several bits potted up in the hope they will take root and a small vase full on the kitchen counter. It feels like poaching, a kind of hang-dog guilty and sneakily triumphant at the same time feeling.
Edited to add - and the neighbors are lacecaps where mine are mopheads, and I adore lacecaps. Also, photos:( photos )

I've been watching the dragon cave stuff with interest, not to get my own but because the graphics are cute. So I went and collected all the graphics of dragons I could find, I need a few more of the intermediate forms ... Stupid, but true.
geeking out
There are a few people I know that will find this really funny and some of them are here. Font humor: This video wasn't long enough, so we made it double-spaced.

Have broken down and started reading Pratchett again. flemmings's fault, in part, the elder's part too, for leaving one volume in the bathroom before going away on vacation. Ah, just my luck, it's Men at Arms. Ho ho, ha ha.

River Castigation
Managed to watch the end of episode 18 (turns out I stopped 2 minutes before the end last time) and all of 19 and 20. The "River Castigation" is FanLi and GouJian at the river, was what you were talking about? It was ... beautiful!
( a scolding to die for )
It's stuck in my head, disjointly with boy band boys.

Chinese vocab
Ha! Found a page of the 3000 most frequently used Chinese characters, sorted by frequency on the web. That'll do for a vocabulary list for studying. I'd rather have a list sorted by competency exam or a reading list by grade level, but this will do. I'm eager to get started.

I was going to go back to my old standby and use the SanZiJing, but it's hanging out with my 300 Tang poems, which is to say, where I can't find it.
